Hello Monday - New Habits

Hello Monday. I have not been here in a couple of days, and here we are at the end of the day. The trees are finally calm. I have tended to most of the things on my to‑do list that matter most. It is just after dinner, and the kitchen is clean and the house is quiet. Henry is curled up next to me as we sit on the couch and take a moment to reflect on the day.

I have just started working on a few new habits in how I handle my day, with the goal of getting closer to my overall goals. Nothing strict, just simple daily actions that do not take a lot of my time but still move the needle forward. I am blocking time for work, home, and life, actually. I am making sure I move my body, staying on top of chores, and not getting lost in client work or waiting for something work‑related to land. Instead, I am walking away when I am done these days.

It has only been a couple of days working in this rhythm, so I am excited to see how things go as I continue. One of the things on my list is daily budget checks. A lot of this, for me, is making sure all charges are mine and seeing where my focus and priorities are. Right now, it is food, fitness or health, and Henry focused. While some of what I have been spending is for the home, it is mostly to finish up loose ends and projects I have been avoiding. But it is fun to see and evaluate. I know that in another month, it will not be house focused, but clothing and shoe focused, as I have summer travels, some of which have specific dress codes that I do not have yet.

Maybe I need financial peace (or a budget) more than I would like to admit.
