Today Feels Like Good Things Ahead
Yesterday, I wrote a post and it got deleted before I could post it, and maybe that is exactly what was supposed to happen. Something I heard years ago was that we all have a book in us - one that is for you and one that is for the world. I am going to believe that to be true about anything we write, from a blog post to a social media post. So yesterday’s post was probably just for me, and today? Well, today is a new day.
We are nearing the end of the week (it is Thursday) and the sun is shining and it is warm here. I cannot help but have a big smile on my face. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, although I have no idea what they are. I know they are good; I can feel it in my bones. Which is probably a weird thing to say, but you know what I am talking about. I have a busy weekend ahead, filled with baseball and concerts, and I cannot wait.
Plus, our little town is kicking off its “First Friday After 5” for the year this week, and we are talking live music, food trucks, mingling and socializing within the community. I am obsessed with small‑town goodness like this. I think it is one of the things that takes me back to my childhood, when we talked to our neighbors, gathered in the community, spent time outside, and cell phones were not the highlights of our lives. I am loving that this year the vibe is the 90s in many ways. Anyone else?
I feel like I could say more, but Henry is ready to go for a walk, and it is time to start the day’s tasks.
p.s. below are a couple of photos from one of the last after 5’s from last year including The Velcro Pygmies.
