Surrender, Service, and a Dog's Hug

The last few days were exactly what I needed: rain, live music, sorority life, book club, and serving in my community. If you're on social, I shared a few weekend photos there. I didn’t get to last month’s book club pick, but I’ll catch up eventually. It’s been such a busy month that I just didn’t have time to prioritize it. Still, I’m looking forward to finishing Lady Tremaine and diving into this month’s read, Girl, Interrupted. Minimal sleep, but totally worth it.

I’m also shaping my website into more of a blog, with digital products to help others and links to things I love, all on one easy page.

Right now, I’m in a season of surrender, giving it all to God and letting Him lead. I’m sitting with the awkwardness of not knowing, while finally building something I’ve wanted for over 20 years. I’m learning to write in the moment, trusting I’m guided to share what someone else needs. No rush, just enjoying the creating. If you’re feeling that pull to create or write, yet uncertain in your season, hear me when I say, that’s okay.

The rest of my time? Chores, house projects, client work, and training Henry. He’s got so much energy, he gets overstimulated, and the whole neighborhood knows his bark. Bless.

God always knows what we need. This morning on our walk, we met a new neighbor. Henry spotted other dogs, went crazy barking (he just wants to say hi, but it sounds aggressive), and I was over it. This neighbor picked him up, gave him a giant squeeze, and held him until he calmed. He’s been so much better all day. I dug out his ThunderShirt, the one he doesn’t need for storms but helps in the car. Big improvements on walks. Who knew he just needed a hug?

I’m pretty grateful. Although I’m asking every day, “Who can I serve?” today I was served. So good.
