A Little Blue Gray Chest
When you move into a new space, do you find it hard to really settle, or is that just me? Some things come together quickly and stay that way. Others change at least three times. And then there are the spaces you avoid and keep telling yourself you will “get to soon.”
For me, that space has been the extra bedroom. Over Christmas, I bought a new duvet cover and shams, and I love them. But the rest of the room has been in limbo. It has been a bit of a dumping ground these days, a place for my sauna blanket and vibration plate, and of course a spot for guests when they visit, but it has felt off more than just unfinished.
Lately I have felt a pull to finally work on that room and make it feel like an intentional space, not just a place to sleep. Maybe it is my creativity coming to life. I have always loved home decorating. Today, after my gym session, I stopped by a local pickers shop. I love that kind of place because you never know what you will find.
Today, I found a three–drawer chest in the prettiest blue–gray. I loved it immediately. I think it is going to be the piece that brings the whole room together.
I am excited about this little project and about making this room into what I have been imagining, instead of letting it stay half done. Follow along as I work on this extra bedroom and, maybe, finally finish “the home” in this season.
